Working with Object Selection

Single selection

During normal operation, clicking on a spot selects it. Clicking on another spot deselects the first one and selects the second. If you click on an empty place (with no spots beneath it), any current selection will be deselected.

Multi-selection

To enter multi-selection mode, press and hold the Ctrl key. In multi-selection mode, clicking on a spot toggles its selection; selected spots become deselected, while those not selected become selected.

This allows you to select multiple spots by clicking on them in succession and correct your selection by clicking again on undesired spots.

Clicking on an empty place clears the selection as usual.

Multi-Selection by Window

You can select multiple spots at once using rectangle selection.

While holding down the Ctrl key, click the mouse button and drag the mouse pointer to draw a selection rectangle.

Dragging from left to right selects spots enclosed by the selection rectangle, which is displayed as light blue with a solid border.

Dragging from right to left select spots intersected by selection rectangle, which is drawn as light green with dashed border.

To use the desired method, begin by dragging from the left or right side of the spots group, depending on which method is more convenient based on specific spot shapes and their placement.

While dragging, spots covered by the selection rectangle (enclosed or intersected) will become highlighted to indicate which ones are being selected. Once you are satisfied with your selection, release the mouse button. The selection rectangle will disappear and the highlighted spots will become selected.

To correct your selection, you can click on desired or unneeded spots as necessary while holding down the Ctrl key. Initiating a new selection using a rectangle will clear the current selection and define a new one. Currently, there is no option to combine several multi-selections. To exit multi-selection mode and return to normal zoom-pan-drag operations, release the Ctrl key.

Layers and selection

Selection will be performed on visible layers. If all layers are visible, all objects will be selected, that might result in really large number of selected objects.

It is advised to work only with single layer containing, for example, spaces.

Single selection drag point for multi-selected spots/groups

After selecting one spot or several spots (or groups) from the same drawing, its center point is calculated and drawn in form of diamond shape.
You can drag all selected spots together by dragging this diamond shaped point.

You can change position of drag point by dragging it with Shift key pressed to desired position.
