Layouts

The layout describes the Tesslets presented to the user and the available perspective sets in each of the selected Tesslet.

After creating new perspective sets and activating configurations, you can then add these perspectives to the Tree or Grid Tesslet.

Managing Layouts

You have the flexibility to define multiple layouts, each containing the following information:

  • Perspective sets available in all views

  • For some views, class and selected fields (Supported for GridView and Popup Grid View)

These layouts can be assigned to specific users or groups. Additionally, you have the option to apply a single default layout that will be effective for all users.

It's important to note that using layouts to hide fields is not a security feature. To control access to specific metadata fields, please refer to Field Level Security (FLS).

Managing Views

The views list is predefined and cannot be altered:

  • Main TreeView: Represents a tree-like structure in the main Archive UI.

  • Main Object properties Panel: Displays object properties in a list view.

  • Main GridView: Presents the main tabular object view.

  • Main DocView: Serves as the primary document viewer.

  • Popup Grid View: Provides an additional grid view accessible in popup properties.

Perspective Sets

Each layout should have perspective sets assigned to these views:

  • Main TreeView: Utilizes one or more perspective sets for the tree structure.

  • Main Object properties Panel: Not applicable.

  • Main GridView: Employs one or more perspective sets for the main grid view.

  • Main DocView: Adopts a single perspective set for viewing complex objects like Rental Units.

  •  Popup Grid View - Uses a single perspective to display additional content in the popup grid view.

Limited list of Class fields

At the moment limited class fields feature is supported only for Main GridView and Popup Grid View. It will have no effect for other Views.

Limited set of class fields is highly recommended to be assigned to Popup Grid View as this is a very compact view not well suited to showing too many columns.

Steps to Create a Custom Fields List

  1. Select "Layout and View" from the top lists.

  2. Open the "Fields" tab.

  3. Choose a class from the drop-down list.

  4. Once a class is selected, a list of available fields will be displayed on the left.

  5. The selected fields will appear on the right.

  6. Select desired fields and utilize the Add/Remove buttons to move items between the lists.

Default configuration

By default, if a class in a given view and layout does not have any fields selected, all fields will be used. Once at least a single field is added to the Selected Fields list, then only fields from this list will be used.

Example below shows Main Grid View will full set of columns and a Popup Grid View with a minimal, limited set:

Please remember that after changes are done in Layouts panel, they will be visible to users after they log in to system next time.
