Object Security

Access to this panel requires Security Administrators role.

This panel allows to assign existing Named Security Schemes to influence specific object in chosen perspective.

Object Security panel displays the Object Tree (with objects in the chosen perspective).

By selecting a specific object, the List of security schemes (on the right panel) updates to display which security scheme restricts access to this object (this is also indicated by red font text next to the object name in the tree).
On the screen above, we can see that for the Root Object "Mina Fastigheter," the default General Scheme is used.

We can click on the second security scheme Room, and then click on either Assign or Assign with subtree button to restrict access to the selected object (or this object and its children - in case of subtree option).

In the example above, we used a Named Security Scheme called "Room" which typically restricts access to room class objects. While this approach is generally acceptable and can be used for Object Security, it might be more beneficial to have separate security schemes for Object Classes and Object Security.

Please remember that object security takes precedence over other security schemes. Even if you have sufficient rights from the default security scheme or from the Type Scheme for Object class, specific object-level security can override those rights. For example, while you may generally have enough rights to view and edit all room objects, assigning a security scheme to a specific room could result in you being unable to see that room at all.
